In our search for a local brand that resonates with Singapore's rich food culture, we discovered Handpicked—a brand dedicated to curating authentic, premium food ingredients that preserve the tradition of Singapore's home-cooked culinary heritage. Founded by Karen Nah in 2017, Handpicked offers ordinary consumers access to high-quality ingredients, akin to those used in restaurants and eateries, while also providing accessibility to staple Asian dietary essentials, particularly noodles.
Handpicked is not just a curator of fine ingredients; it is also a local noodle manufacturer. They collaborate closely with a local flour merchant to create specially concocted flour blends, allowing them to control various aspects of their noodle production, such as texture, colour, and gluten level. The brand also sources pasteurised whole eggs from a local farmer, ensuring that every ingredient used in their noodles is 100% locally sourced.
Handpicked is a small, yet impactful local brand that currently operates online. Their products are delivered directly to customers' homes, ready to be cooked and enjoyed. This model ensures that the essence of Singapore's culinary heritage is conveniently accessible to all.
